Background
Mr. Massicotte is a partner at our Calgary office. He was admitted to both
the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Alberta Bar in 1992. In 1990, Mr. Massicotte
graduated on the Deans List from the University of Western Ontario with
a Bachelor of Laws Degree. In 1985, he graduated from the University of Windsor
with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree.

- Mr. Massicotte practises primarily in insurance and commercial litigation.
Professional Experience
- Mr. Massicotte offers experience in:
- Product liability matters, including aviation and automobile-related
claims;
- Directors and officers, and fidelity insurance claims;
- Life and disability insurance claims;
- Personal injury claims, including automobile accident and occupiers
liability claims;
- Medical liability, health law litigation and professional negligence
claims; and
- Abroad range of commercial disputes, having been co-counsel in the Royal
Bank v. Got litigation (heard by the Supreme Court of Canada), and
the ATB v. West Edmonton Mall litigation, among other matters.
- Mr. Massicotte has appeared as counsel before every level of Court in Alberta,
as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also appeared before various
administrative tribunals.
Professional and Community Activities
- Past member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Calgary
Vocational Services, a large, non-profit society having operations in Calgary
and elsewhere in the Province of Alberta
- Has been involved in the preparation of a number of papers and articles
addressing a wide range of legal issues and has presented a variety of topics
at numerous seminars.
