Payment of Compensation under Commercial Agents' Regulations

According to the Court of Appeal decision in Light v Ty Europe Ltd (2003), commercial sub-agents appointed by the principal's main agent, but who fail to have a direct legal, contractual or quasi-contractual relationship with the principal, cannot benefit from the compensation provisions in Regulation 8 of the Commercial Agents (Council Directive) Regulations 1993.
