Jane Player is joint head of Bird & Bird’s international dispute
resolution practice group. She qualified in 1987 and moved to
DLA, where she was promoted to partner in 1994 and then
London head of litigation the following year. Ms Player joined
Bird & Bird as a partner in 2002.
Ms Player specialises in high-value commercial contractual
claims, often with an international client base. She has been
involved in various large-scale multi-party litigation and
arbitration matters for both domestic and overseas clients and,
in particular, has been involved in complex joint venture and
share purchase agreement disputes, large contractual claims,
professional negligence and fraud investigations.
Ms Player is an accredited mediator and has been involved
in a large number of domestic and international mediations,
particularly for the technology sector, which includes life
sciences. She has developed a reputation for risk management
advisory work and assisting clients to avoid disputes at an
early stage.
Ms Player takes a leading role within Bird & Bird’s bribery
and corruption group, offering risk management advice to
corporations both within the United Kingdom and abroad,
especially in light of the UK Bribery Act 2010.
