Neeraj Tuli, senior partner of Tuli & Co, is dual qualified as a
lawyer in India and in England and Wales. He specialises in
insurance and reinsurance matters, including coverage issues,
representation work and product development, which forms
part of his contentious and non-contentious practice.
Mr Tuli’s contentious work comprises coverage advice
across a wide range of policies, including errors and omissions,
commercial general liability, public liability, product liability,
directors’ and officers’ liability, employment practices liability,
trade credit, material damage, business interruption and
contingent business interruption, construction, delay in start-up,
advance loss of profit and marine insurance. He has handled
litigation and arbitration in India, England, the United States,
Hong Kong, Singapore and Papua New Guinea.
On the non-contentious side, he has vetted or drafted
around 800 policies across a range of business and product
lines under the Insurance Regulatory and Development
Authority’s ‘file and use’ procedure. He is also experienced in
advising on the regulatory and statutory framework applicable
to the conduct of insurance business in the Indian market for
insurers, reinsurers, loss adjustors, third-party administrators,
brokers and agents.
Mr Tuli has been invited to be president of the newly formed
Indian Insurance Law Association, affiliated to the British
Insurance Law Association. He is the former chair of
Assocham’s Insurance Committee and a member of the
Confederation of Indian Industry’s newly formed National
Committee on Dispute Resolution.
