The group provides a full range of legal
services to clients in industries defined by
innovation and intellectual property, including
communications, media and technology, retail
and brands. The team combines leading
practitioners from the corporate, finance,
competition, regulatory, IP, employment,
dispute resolution and tax practices. It advises
on all aspects of technology and IP
development, protection, procurement and
licensing, and on transactions including licence
agreements, joint ventures, outsourcing,
financing (including project, leverage, vendor
and acquisition financing), venture capital and
private equity investments and buy-outs, and
public and private mergers and acquisitions.
Life sciences and pharmaceuticals
The group works with leading pharmaceutical,
bioscience and technology companies, from
innovation, corporate development,
commercialisation and market exploitation
to the maintenance and enforcement of IP
rights. It advises on all areas of litigation
(including IP and product liability in complex
multi-jurisdictional matters), trade law, recall
and crisis management, regulatory, patent
counsel and patent prosecution. Lawyers
assist in financing, developing and executing
exit strategies, mergers and acquisitions,
commercialised or pre-commercialisation
assets and pharmaceutical manufacturing
facilities and commercial contracts for research
and development. The group also advises
on compliance, antitrust, marketing, pricing
and distribution.
