Partner of the law firm Cuatrecasas, where she forms part of the employment practice group.

Cuatrecasas is one of the leading legal firms on the Iberian Peninsula. Cuatrecasas offers comprehensive legal advice in the various areas of business law with an emphasis on personalization and results. The firm has major offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon and in the major Spanish and Portuguese cities, as well as in Brussels, New York, Paris, Londo, Casablanca and Sao Paulo.

Sonia Cortés has extensive experience in employment law, including collective redundancy, dismissals, negotiations with trade unions, senior executive agree-ments, court litigation, and major issues such as discrimination and safety at work (alleged employer's liability for asbestos), focusing on legal advice to foreign mul-tinationals.

She is a lecturer on employment law at the reputable school of business admini-stration ESADE. She has been a lecturer at Universidad Pompeu Fabra, at the Higher School of International Trading (ESCI), at the Barcelona Bar Association, at the High Business Institute (ISDE) and at the School for Business Administra-tion (AEA) of Barcelona.
