Ţuca Zbârcea & Asociaţii expands its competition practice with the arrival of former Competition Council vice president George Musliu

Tuca Zbârcea & Asociatii law firm recently announced the expansion of its Competition Department and the growth of its Bucharest office following the association to George Musliu and his team. George Musliu is the former Vice-president of the Romanian Competition Council and as such he dealt with all the mergers and antitrust related issues within the last two years. During his mandate the Romanian competition authority busted several cartels and applied the biggest fines since its establishment in 1997. Also, throughout this period, after continuous monitoring process by the European Commission in view of accession, the Competition Council was recognized as having reached a satisfactory level of its enforcement record in merger and antitrust cases.

Starting with June 2006, he is the exclusive "of counsel" on competition matters at Tuca Zbârcea & Asociatii. This association aiming to combine legal services and economic analysis in the competition field is a first in Romania.
