June 01 2010

On April 12 2010 the Cabinet of Ministers issued Resolution 300/2010, which amended the Regulations on Procurement of Goods, Works and Services for Public Funds. The amendments provide that the regulations do not apply to the procurement of goods, works and services connected with the preparation of infrastructure for the Euro 2012 football championships in Ukraine.(1)

The amendments affect:

  • the construction of new stadiums and the renovation of existing stadiums for the finals;
  • the construction, renovation and improvement of training centres for competing teams;
  • the design, construction, renovation and repair of airports;
  • the construction, repair and general improvement of main roads to European standards; and
  • the establishment of modern systems to improve public transport services around the four venues - Kiev, Donetsk, Lvov and Kharkov - as well as road-safety monitoring systems around the stadia.
