Will BKPM takeover of OSS help to eliminate glitches?

The online single submission (OSS) system constitutes a significant overhaul of Indonesia's business and investment licensing regime. Although much later than scheduled, responsibility for the OSS has now officially transferred to the Investment Coordinating Board. The government made it clear from the outset that the OSS would take time to perfect. Although the OSS works reasonably well for the most part, a number of problems remain.

New Bill on Palm Oil: incentive package for businesses

This is despite the fact that the bill has been subject to criticism, particularly from environmental activists, who argue that there is no urgency for its enactment as most of the provisions are already contained in the Plantation Law. The minister of health recently issued the Regulation regarding Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Industries Development Action Plans (17/2017). With the action plans, the government aims to establish, preserve and apply pharmaceutical product and medical device standards and increase the use of local pharmaceutical products and locally produced medical devices, among other things.
