Loss of goods: safety-relevant contractual agreements

The Nuremberg Court of Appeal recently ruled on a carrier's right to limit its liability in a case in which goods were stolen during international transportation after the carrier had intentionally breached stipulations intended to ensure the safety of the goods. The court held that such behaviour alone resulted in the carrier's unlimited liability.
