Lawyer biography

Giorgio has a broad practice that covers investment and private equity fund formation, corporate and commercial matters including joint ventures and acquisitions, capital markets and structured finance products. Before joining Ogier in 2002, Giorgio worked with Sullivan & Cromwell in New York, Pinheiro Neto Advogados in São Paulo and Linklaters in London and Paris. Giorgio is fluent in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish and is the Honorary Counsel of Brazil in the Cayman Islands. Giorgio was made partner of Ogier in 2006.

The Special Trusts (Alternative Regime) (STAR) Law introduced so-called 'STAR trusts' into Cayman Islands law to overcome some of the difficulties arising from more conventional offshore trusts.
