The eagerly awaited Renewable Expansion Law relies on market premiums aimed at compensating for the difference between the production costs of electricity from renewable sources and the average market price for electricity. Approved Preventive Action Plan for security of gas supply

The Regulatory Authority for Energy recently approved the Preventive Action Plan, which regulates the measures to be taken to ensure the security of gas supply in compliance with the EU Gas Supply Standard Regulation. In addition, the plan sets out various obligations of the transmission system operator, natural gas providers and electricity producers using natural gas fuel.

Regulation of electricity and gas network tariffs for 2022 to 2026

The draft method decisions for TenneT and the electricity and gas regional distribution system operators (DSOs) were recently published, giving parties until 31 May 2021 to submit their opinions. A key new element in the final method decision of Gasunie Transport Services (published in February 2021) and the draft method decisions for the DSOs is that the Authority for Consumers and Markets is allowing the system operators to charge network costs earlier than before by means of degressive depreciation.
