Since the beginning of 2013 the Competition Authority has witnessed a slump in its workload. So far in 2013 it has issued two decisions in January and two in February, and published two news items, concerning Competition Authority staff participation at international conferences.
The authority has also issued four merger clearance decisions. All were decided in summary proceedings on the same grounds – the lack of effect on the Macedonian market.
In March 2013 the authority published two news items concerning Competition Authority staff attending two international meetings of merger experts. One meeting was the Global Forum on Competition Law held in Paris on February 28, and the other was the International Conference on Competition, which took place in Berlin on March 21 and 22.
