On November 30 2015 the Competition Authority conducted a dawn raid on the Belgrade premises of Philip Morris and British American Tobacco.

A day after the raid, the authority published an announcement on its website naming the companies that had been raided. The authority stated that there was reasonable suspicion that competition infringement had occurred.

The authority also initiated ex officio procedures, as it suspected that Philip Morris and British American Tobacco had consorted in order to align prices.

This is the authority's second dawn raid involving the tobacco market. The first was conducted against e-cigarettes distributors in Summer 2015.
