The Competition Authority recently investigated four companies for bid rigging in a tender organised by the Ministry of Defence for the procurement of uniforms and shoes in 2013.
In November 2015 the authority fined the companies a total of approximately €300,000 and prohibited them from participating as bidders in public procurement for the next 18 months.
Three of the companies – Amm Immovables doo, Beteco doo and Sagoja doo – were fined between 5.1% and 5.85% of their total annual turnover generated in 2012. The fourth company – Advena line doo – was not fined, as it terminated business in 2014.
