Foreign Investors Council says competition authority progress is considerable

On November 28 2016 the Foreign Investors Council presented the 2016 edition of the White Book – an overview of the traditional business climate in Serbia and recommendations for its improvement.

The document notes considerable progress in the work of the Commission for the Protection of Competition.

Key improvements include:

• adoption of a new Merger Notification Decree (in line with EU legislation);
• openness to consultations with undertakings before filing merger notifications, in order to eliminate ambiguities increased by the frequency of dawn raids;
• provision of information on the commission's work, including the publication of opinions and decisions on its website; and
• other promotional activities.
