On May 26 2010 ISVAP, Italy's insurance regulator, published Regulation 35 on the disclosure duties of insurance undertakings (with particular reference to pre-contractual information to proposers) and the advertisement of insurance products.
A first draft of the regulation was published on November 11 2007, followed by a second draft on July 2 2009.
The main change is that a comprehensive information booklet must now be attached to non-life insurance policies. The booklet must include:

The regulation also applies (with a few exceptions) to EU undertakings that perform insurance activities in the Italian territory under the freedom of establishment and freedom of services rules.
The new regulation will come into effect on December 1 2010.
