The Department of Merchant Shipping recently issued an updated list of medical practitioners authorised to carry out examinations and issue certificates under Article 12 of the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination of Seafarers and Issue of Certificates) Laws 2000 and 2014(1) and the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination of Seafarers and Issue of Certificates) (List of Approved Doctors) Notification 2017.(2)
Seafarers' medical examinations in Cyprus must be carried out either in a government general hospital or by a doctor in the private sector whose name appears on the list of approved doctors.
