Lieven Peeters is a partner at ALTIUS, where he heads the
real estate team. He is an expert in Belgian real estate and
construction law. Mr Peeters and his team advise clients on
the structuring of real estate projects, mergers and acquisitions,
sale-and-leaseback transactions, divestments, joint ventures,
leasing, public-private partnerships and split structures. Mr
Peeters has advised clients on a wide range of real estate
transactions in Belgium. His clients include the owners of
several large shopping centres, office buildings, logistics
centres and large inner-city developments, as well as property
developers specialising in niche products, such as senior
housing and mixed-use projects.
Mr Peeters recently acted for Eurostation and the
Belgian Railways in the sale of a large and fully pre-let office
development in Bruges. This deal was the largest office
transaction in Belgium in 2011 and the largest single building
transaction outside of Brussels.
Mr Peeters also assisted Intervest Offices and Warehouses,
a Belgian real estate investment trust, in relation to the
negotiation of the new logistic Benelux headquarters of Nike.
Mr Peeters is further assisting CBRE Global Investors with
the demolition and renovation scheme for the former Hewlett-
Packard site in Evere, which will be turned into a large
commercial surface complex.
Mr Peeters has often been praised for his highly pragmatic
approach to making deals and for his thorough, clearly
structured, on-time and complete support, in addition to his
legal advice. He is recognised as a leading lawyer by several
legal publications, such as the
