François Rayroux offers legal advice to banks and securities
dealers. He has been nominated by various professional
organisations as an expert in Switzerland in banking and
financial services, as well as capital markets law. In 2011
cited him as a leading individual in investment funds.
Dr Rayroux is co-head of Lenz & Staehelin’s banking and
finance group in Geneva. He advises a number of Swiss and
international financial institutions on all banking and regulatory
matters, with a particular focus on funds management and
distribution, as well as all types of financial products, particularly
derivative instruments.
Dr Rayroux teaches investment funds law at various
professional organisations, including the master of banking law
programme at the University of Geneva. He is also a frequent
speaker at industry conferences on banking and financial law
issues. He is a member of the Legal and Compliance Committee
of the Swiss Funds Association and is also the author of the
International Swaps and Derivatives Association netting opinion
for Switzerland.
Dr Rayroux graduated from the University of Zurich in 1986
and was admitted to the Bar in 1989. In 1990 he obtained
an LLM from the University of Chicago Law School and he
completed his doctoral thesis at the University of Zurich in 1993.
Dr Rayroux has been a partner at Lenz & Staehelin since 1998.
