Paolo Ricci is head of the Italian corporate insurance and
corporate life sciences team at Hogan Lovells. He joined the
firm on its Italian start-up in 2000.
Mr Ricci has focused on the insurance and reinsurance
field for more than 15 years, assisting a wide number of Italian,
EU and US insurance and reinsurance companies in their
activities in Italy. In particular, he works in the areas of corporate
transactions, regulatory, finance and distribution, as well as in
the designing and structuring of cutting-edge financial insurance
products – including the first unit linked to hedge funds ever
marketed in Italy – private mortgage insurance and collateral
protection insurance.
Mr Ricci has also developed expertise in the life sciences
and biotechnology sectors, providing his services to the major
international players, particularly in the area of corporate
transactions and regulatory matters, but also in complex
distribution partnerships and strategic licensing, co-marketing,
co-promotion agreements and the authorisation and
organisation of clinical trials.
Mr Ricci is recommended in all major legal directories as
one of the leading corporate lawyers in Italy.
