Eduardo Zuleta leads the firm’s practice in international
arbitration, international litigation, foreign investment protection
and international law. Mr Zuleta has been a co-arbitrator, sole
arbitrator, counsel and chair in international commercial
arbitrations under the rules of the International Chamber
of Commerce (ICC), the United Nations Commission on
International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and the International
Centre for Dispute Resolution. He has ruled on matters
involving private and state parties and relating to construction,
gas, infrastructure, utilities and distribution, as well as project
finance and commercial contracts in general. He has also
acted as chair, arbitrator and adviser in investment arbitrations
under the International Centre for Settlement of Investment
Disputes (ICSID) Rules and the UNCITRAL Rules. In local and
international litigation, Mr Zuleta has acted as counsel and
expert in matters related to international law, tort, commercial
contracts, public contracts, distribution and agency agreements
and utilities.
Mr Zuleta is a member of the panel of arbitrators appointed
by the chairman of ICSID’s Administrative Council. He sits as
vice chair of the International Bar Association Arbitration
Committee, chair of the Americas Initiative of the Institute
for Transnational Arbitration and a member of the ICC Latin
American Group.
Mr Zuleta holds a JD from the
Universidad del Rosario
a diploma in international dispute resolution from Queen Mary,
University of London. He has held professorships in international
contract law and international dispute resolution and is the
author of several publications on international arbitration, as
well as the co-editor on a book on the New York Convention.
Mr Zuleta is fluent in English and Spanish.
